Hot days mean ice cream dates.

It finally hit 100 degrees in Las Vegas this week, which means a million degrees in your car. Unfortunately, I’m having issues with my air conditioner in my car. Ugh. I picked up Averie from daycare after work and she complained about me putting her in the car because it was hot. She hates having the windows down because she doesn’t like air blowing in her face. Needless to say, she was miserable. Right next to Averie’s daycare, there’s a Baskin Robbins so we decided to stop for ice cream.

Of course Averie has had ice cream before and of course, she loves it. So when I asked her if she wanted ice cream, her face lit up with excitement. Averie has never been in an ice cream shop before so I was just as excited as she was.

When we walked in, her face was priceless. She said, “Wooow, ice cream! Look, mama!” I asked her which one she wanted and there were just so many, that she couldn’t even speak. I decided to get her sherbet and she got to taste one first and then she picked out the one she tasted.

I got 2 scoops, one of mint chocolate chip and cookies and creme. Naturally, Averie had to have some of mine too. Mom’s food is always better of course.

I was surprised at how behaved she was in there. She didn’t whine, scream or even leave her chair. She sat there the entire time and ate her whole cup of sherbet. She didn’t want to leave and of course wanted more.

Later after Erich got off work, we had to go back because he was jealous. He had worked outside in the heat all day so he deserved an ice cream too. He got a chocolate and sprinkle dipped waffle cone with cookie dough and Snickers ice cream.
Erich’s reaction was pretty much the same as Averie’s. He had never been to Baskin Robbins either so it took him a while to pick what he wanted.

It was a nice ice cream date with my guy and my mini.

Hot sweaty days means ice cream. 🍦

Needless to say, she was a bit excited.

  1. Who doesn’t love going for ice cream on a hot day! It is so much better than ice cream at home and it’s a plus when the kids mouths are full and they are happy:)

  4. look at that face! this is one of the reason why i am sad that my son has dairy allergies… i would love to be able to take him to an ice cream shop without having to think if they non-dairy choices for him.
